See, for guys who are desperate or wanted sex online dating is cheaper than a hooker. So they will still get into paying sites. But paying sites tend to have less sex-only orientated guys.

I would suggest something free. I didn’t pay anything for Yahoo Personals, but he had to pay for one month to contact me. It was something like 15 bucks. He said it was the best $15 he’s ever spent.

At least online you get to get to know the person a bit before you make any such irrational commitments.

Saying that i have a friend (a guy) who is on an online dating site, and he genuinely wanted a relationship with somebody descent, and he gets nothing but e-mails and messages from girls saying "your fit" and basically getting straight to the point and asking him if he wants to meet up for sex so i think it swings in rounsabouts really, it is not just men that are after one thing.

I think a paid site and a free site is both equally likely to have the same amount of serious people and people after sex. People that are paying to be a member i.e. match.com etc i guess are more likely to be serious about wanting a relationship… but not everybody wants to spend money/has money to spend on online dating sites so you will also find those people on free sites you might just have to make sure you get to know them online first before you commit to meeting. You will then at least be able to make up your own mind about what they want.. and if its what you want.

I don’t believe in online dating. It’s a concept that is not "Manly" in any way. It is generally more appealing to women…. because they get to present themselves in a way they would RATHER BE SEEN – instead of the way they actually ARE.

I speak as an authority here – because I am somewhat directly in the Internet / online dating BUSINESS.
